Our website has one goal: to help you understand the various types of lawyers that exist today.  The law is very complicated and no lawyer or attorney can handle all types of legal matters.  Some lawyers still consider themselves generalists and will take on a wide variety of legal matters, but increasingly lawyers concentrate their practice in one or a few subject matter areas.

Most lawyers are typed by the areas of substantive (tax, securities, trademark, etc…) or procedural (litigation) areas that they concentrate their practices in. Some, however, are based on the types of clients (small business attorneys, for example). Others are based on the way their practice of law is conducted (such as solo lawyers or in-house lawyers)
